My Native-to-Missouri Spicebush is as happy to see the Spring Equinox as we are!

Did you know:
🦋 It is the host plant to Eastern Tiger & Spicebush Swallowtails, as well as the Promethea Silkmoth.
🦋 Historically utilized for medicinal and culinary purposes by Native Americans. Currently the most popular preperation is tea.
🦋 It's flowers have a citrusy scent and is one of the earliest blooming natives.

Lost some sheets off the barn roof and am holding my breath we don't lose more! 🤞If there are few certainties with owning a farm: the cows will calve at the worst weather and most inconvienent time, and if you knock one thing off the To-Do list, two more things get added. 😅😭😂

Another bundle of hatching eggs is heading out the door today! 🥰 I am working my way down the waitlist slowly but surely! I strive to give my customers the best hatch rate possible, which means checking each egg for hairline cracks, candling to ensure there are no double yolks or other internal abnormalaties present, and weighing each egg to ensure they are optimally sized for hatching.

I am thankful for the awesome feedback from customers and sending me photos of all their sweet fluff nuggets. 🥰

➡️If you would like to reserve sourdough goodies from The Farme or Camelot Pantry, here is how this works:
Comment below with what you'd like to order and the pick-up date. Our Sourdough and breads are baked fresh, so we open at 10:30AM to allow time for baking and putting in the stand. Your order will have a ticket with your name on it inside the stand. If you order from more than one baker, your orders will be in seperate bags. To check out, you will write your name on the check out sheet along with your order and any other goodies you pick-up!
If you want more than 5 of an item please PM me to order.
Orders close WEDNESDAY 3/19 at 8 AM ❤🥰

There is so. much. fresh. sourdough. stocked in the stand today. 😍 It's the perfect cloudy day for some warm sourdough toast with one of our 20 jam varieties, or texas toast with one of our soup mixes.

Drama in The Henhouse B&B this morning. 😂 Walked in to a hen screaming about her box being invaded. 10 nesting boxes and apparently this lady wants only already occupied ones. 🤣

Last fall we had a couple cats dumped on our property. Only one stuck around, and by the time we got her friendly enough to handle we figured out she was going to have babies. She was given the name Petunia and loves people now! After a couple months of trying to rehome her, my kids became too attached so we decided to keep her. We made her a box for birthing, and today we were delighted to find four new occupants on the farm. There are new babies everywhere this week! Spring is in the air! 🥰

Heads up: Cattle Live Birth! We were lucky enough to be present for Miss H's birth last week, so we put together a video of his first few days of life. Little boy has bright blue eyes and lots of spunk!
