Community Greenhouse Farms is a nonprofit organization that is helping to bring easier and more affordable access to healthy, organic foods. ft.

Our farm will provide a community food assistance program, a CSA program and a seniors meal program. The idea behind Community Greenhouse Farms is not only to provide food assistance for free to those who need it, but to also help provide local schools, hospitals, church pantry’s, and food banks with healthy, organically grown food. We also want to help educate people on the importance of nutritio

n, provide the elderly and disabled with a meal delivery program and to provide the entire community with easier access to more affordable and healthy foods. All while doing it in an ecologically sound and sustainable manner. The farm is on 20 acres just outside of Lebanon, Missouri in LaClede County. It will have a 10,000 sq. greenhouse that will house an aquaponics system that can grow over 200,000 lbs of produce annually and over 40,000 lbs of fish. The greenhouse will be heated and cooled through geothermal energy, will use solar to provide all the power needed and will have a large rain collection system to provide the necessary water for the plants. The other part of the farm will consist of 3-4 acres of outdoor crops (corn, sweet potatoes, melons, berries and squashes). There will be free range chickens, ducks and pigs. Also, there will be multiple bee hives to provide pollination in our area and of course, honey. These outdoor resources can provide another 250,000 lbs. of food annually.
